Do you knit or do another craft and want work with others doing similar projects? Come join a new SOS knitting group. Other crafters who crochet, cross stitch, etc. are also welcome!
We plan to meet on Sundays 4-6pm at alternating houses, 1-2 times per month. Knitters and crafters can bring their own projects and we can share ideas, techniques, and chat and catch up on good ski runs and hikes.
Contact Nancy Held or Diane Gordon for more information and meeting locations. Or, use the Contact form of this website.

We have many in our community that could use some blessings.
This Friday, December 22nd, please join us as we create a space for the power of baking challah together.
"There's a custom tied to a spiritual belief in Judaism that if a group of women bake challah with someone in mind, it has the power to change the course of natural events.”
Baking challah can be both tasty and a powerful act. With the process of baking large quantities of dough comes the mitzvah of hafrashat challah, where a piece of the dough is separated and burned. The separation of challah is considered a very special and auspicious time and a time to offer up prayers for loved ones and whoever else may be in need of them.
"Why are we, as Jewish women, drawn to challah specifically? On a superficial level, we love being together, talking about life and doing something tangible. Plus, this mitzvah also helps us feed our loved ones, and connects us to the generations of Jewish women who have gathered around a kitchen table."
We will be making the dough, learning about the meaning behind the ingredients and letting it rise before braiding. You will take your challah home to bake.
For those who are interested while the challah is rising we can play some mah jong. Bring your card.
